Civil War Sharpshooters

Gary's talk focuses on who the sharpshooters were, what they did, and their influence on the Civil
War battlefield.  Attendees will go away with a greater appreciation of the role of the sharpshooter in
the Civil War.

Gary Yee has a lifelong interest in military
history. As the director of security at San
Francisco's Fine Arts Museums, he has given
presentations before the Smithsonian
Conference on Cultural Property Protection
and the American Association of Museums. As
the director of security for the San Francisco
War Memorial Performing Arts Center, he
serves on the Veterans' Advisory Committee
on Archives and Trophies. A former law
enforcement firearms instructor and armorer,
he currently builds long-rifles, hunting bags and
powder horns. He has articles published in
Muzzle Blasts and Muzzle Loader, Gettysburg,
The Skirmish Line and The Firearms
Instructor, magazines. He is a life member of
the Company of Military Historians,
International Naval Research Organization,
National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association and
the National Rifle Association.
