On Thursday March 20th, Patrick Doyle presented his paper on "Two Civil War Generals in Mexico," detailing the story of David Emmanuel Twiggs and William Selby Harney, their exploits in the Mexican-American war of 1846-1848, and their "meeting" with John Riley, the leader of the (mostly) Irish deserters from the US Army who fought on the Mexican side, in the San Patricio Battalion.
Apparently the subject was well received (see photos below).
